As part of the settlement, Google has agreed to pay $700 million, with $630 million allocated to a settlement fund for consumers and an additional $70 million directed towards a fund for the states. Google plans to introduce a streamlined sideloading process and updated language to educate users about potential risks associated with direct app downloads from the web.
